Celebrate Veteran’s Day in your room by having students distinguish between first and secondhand accounts of 5 different events surrounding this important holiday! Written with regard to “kid friendly” understanding, students will collaborate in rich discussions as they participate in this group scoot activity. They will use inferring skills and text evidence to determine from which point of view each account is written. The integration of both Language Arts skills and social studies content provides a great way to honor this important national holiday while at the same time giving practice in several Common Core standard areas.
