Veterans Day history explained with a nonfiction story for children in Pre-K and Kindergarten. You can use this in the reading/literacy center, as an emergent reader, a read aloud or for group reading. It is also appropriate for a great (hi)story sequence activity.
This pack has been updated (9/27/2013) and now includes ELA worksheets, graphic organizers, tracing&writing, 4 soldiers templates for craftivities, instructions for one Veterans Day card - craft and an individual (student) Veterans Day booklet.
The main informational text is in color while the worksheets and the individual student booklet is in black&white. The booklet can be used as an emergent reader and colored. There is a "notes" page at the end for opinion writing.
The children learn Veterans Day history facts in a simple and comprehensive way.
You can print it or use with your laptop, projector or Ipad in class.
