Description

Recommended for grades 5-12, this comprehensive product will walk you right through the steps to have your students interview military veterans. The author spent ten years in the National Guard, and regularly interviews veterans herself for her website. This is detailed and ready to go for your pre- or post Veterans Day project, or any time of the year. You can incorporate letter writing, essay writing, public speaking and even technology with this project.

This product includes a teacher's guide with:

*A start to finish overview plan for how to do use it in your classroom, including ideas for how to alter the project for lower or higher grades.
*A Tips for Success page to keep you on the right track and avoid things you may never have thought of. These include how to find veterans for kids to interview, how to avoid problems with audio or video interviews, ideas for how to share the interviews, and how to ensure student success.
*A Veteran Standard Information Sheet form ready to copy for the students.
*36 questions for kids to choose from to ask their veteran.
*A handout for students to take notes during the interview.
*A glossary of common military terms.

Done well, this project creates a keepsake for students, veterans and their families!
