Product Description
Vice News produces a weekly news episode, documentary style, each featuring two specific topics relevant to society today. They focus on technology, the environment, health, global conflict, economics, social issues and more. Watching the series and completing the extension projects is a great way for students to stay informed, problem solve solutions to global issues, and stay connected to their local and global communities.

This bundle includes a worksheet and project extension ideas for 22 episodes. There are enough episodes to view one each week with your class for over a semester, or once a day for a little over a month. The teaching duration is flexible depending on how you make use of each lesson. Part 1 is a worksheet that goes along with the episode. Watching the video together as a class, pausing for questions and discussion, and discussion post-video takes anywhere from 30 - 60 minutes, depending on the topic and the audience. Part 2 of the lesson offers extension options for students to do as a class or independently. The duration of these options vary from minutes to months.

I use these lessons in my advisory, but they could be used in any class that incorporates current events, or certain episodes can be selected for relevant classes such as environmental science. My students love “Vice days” because it gives them a chance to develop opinions, think critically, question their actions, and have insightful debates with their classmates.

I did not include every episode of Vice in this bundle. I have chosen to include worksheets for the episodes that I did, because I have found them to be interesting to my students AND they continue to be relevant even those that aired several years ago. This bundle mostly includes episodes from seasons 1-4. I will post a season 5 bundle when the episodes are available on Youtube. To see which episodes are included in this bundle, check out the Table of Contents in the "Preview" option. Note that all episodes included in this bundle are available on Youtube at this time. You do not need an HBO subscription. One exception to that is "Microbiome". It is not yet on Youtube. I decided to include it because it is a great episode to combine with "Post-Antibiotic World" and "Fecal Medicine". If you are an HBO subscriber, don't skip "Microbiome"!

Good luck and enjoy!
