How can we use a piece of art to think scientifically? By studying this image and considering what we know about nature, we’ll determine the direction we’re looking, the time of day and the phase of the Moon we’re seeing in the painting.
In our classroom, we have pieces of art like this on the walls. Sometimes we have a discussion about them, like the one we’ve had here but primarily they serve as a beautiful reminder how things are connected and how studying one area of interest can often inform another.
