Student’s don’t get excited about space travel today. That why I use this video series When we Left the Earth (Season 1 Episode 3)
. It captures the feel of society at the moment the US is attempting to reach the moon, helping kids to connect with the sentiments of the times. This video guide is meant to accompany “Landing the Eagle,” As a way to generate discussion about space travel. Kids enjoy this and it's great historical lesson in science. FYI, a graphing calculator has more processing power than the Lunar Module that landed on the moon!
