Description
You don't know multitasking until you've taught beginning orchestra.
Two days that are always particularly challenging for me are:
- The first day of instruments
- The first day of bow hands
The reason is simple: how can I give individual feedback and positioning help to every student, while keeping the rest of the class engaged in something they have never done before?!
I got smart over the summer. I figured out how to be two places at once.
This year, while I circulate the room adjusting individual positioning, I will also be at the front of my classroom teaching the class as a whole!
I can be at the front of your classroom too! These 10-15 minute video lessons are what I actually use at the start of the school year in my classroom. There are two ways to use these videos:
- Watch as Teacher Tutorials and recreate with your own voice in your classroom.
- Play for your students while you wander the room and make individual adjustments.
