This video study guide was created to accompany the 2008 documentary film I.O.U.S.A. The 85-minute film explains the origins and consequences of the federal government's growing debt, and can be used in high school- or college-level government or civics courses.
The 16+ questions on the study guide are given in fill-in-the-blank format, and don't require much higher-level thinking. They are a good way to introduce students to fiscal policy and the interaction between economics and politics in our democratic system, and will hopefully provoke some worthwhile discussions in your government or economics classes.
Please use and enjoy!
