This resource is part of my Video-Supported Math series and includes 9 student pages and 18 instructional videos relating to Operations and Algebraic Thinking concepts for Grade 5.

Each page includes:

- An "I Can" statement
- A QR code link to a concept review video
- Practice problems
- Another QR code link to a video to go over the practice problems

Simply download a free QR Code reader app on a student tablet. Students will scan the QR code at the top of each page for a brief concept review video. Next, complete the practice problems. Then scan the second QR code at the bottom of each page to go over the work. There is also an answer key included in the download. Your students will build a wonderful reference tool that they can use again and again!

Concept pages and videos included in this download are:

Adding and Subtracting Fractions with Unlike Denominators 5.NF.A.1

Subtracting Fractions From a Whole Number 5.NF.A.1

Subtracting Mixed Numbers 5.NF.A.1

Fractions of the Same Whole/Fraction Number Sense 5.NF.A.2

Connect Fractions to Division 5.NF.B.3

Multiplying Fractions 5.NF.B.4a

Area and Mixed Numbers 5.NF.B.4b

Multiplication as Resizing or Scaling 5.NF.B.5a/5b

Dividing Fractions 5.NF.B.7

**All video sharing is done through QR codes linked to SafeShare.tv. Please check with your school IT dept to be sure SafeShare.tv is unblocked. **

Some ideas for use include:

•Math stations

•Homework–parents appreciate the concept refresher when helping with homework

•Math interactive notebook –cut along the dotted line and use the sample problem and video link to build a resource book of all grade 5 concepts (when purchasing the entire bundle)

•Reteaching/extra practice

CCSS5.NF.B.7c

Solve real world problems involving division of unit fractions by non-zero whole numbers and division of whole numbers by unit fractions, e.g., by using visual fraction models and equations to represent the problem. For example, how much chocolate will each person get if 3 people share 1/2 lb of chocolate equally? How many 1/3-cup servings are in 2 cups of raisins?

CCSS5.NF.B.7b

Interpret division of a whole number by a unit fraction, and compute such quotients. For example, create a story context for 4 ÷ (1/5), and use a visual fraction model to show the quotient. Use the relationship between multiplication and division to explain that 4 ÷ (1/5) = 20 because 20 × (1/5) = 4.

CCSS5.NF.B.7a

Interpret division of a unit fraction by a non-zero whole number, and compute such quotients. For example, create a story context for (1/3) ÷ 4, and use a visual fraction model to show the quotient. Use the relationship between multiplication and division to explain that (1/3) ÷ 4 = 1/12 because (1/12) × 4 = 1/3.

CCSS5.NF.B.7

Apply and extend previous understandings of division to divide unit fractions by whole numbers and whole numbers by unit fractions.

CCSS5.NF.B.6

Solve real world problems involving multiplication of fractions and mixed numbers, e.g., by using visual fraction models or equations to represent the problem.
