Description

The project challenges students to explore two distinct styles of media creation:

  • Short Form: Characterized by high pacing, immediacy, and grabbing the audience's attention quickly.
  • Long Form: Focused on deeper storytelling, character development, and building a stronger audience connection.

Students are expected to collaborate on script writing (including planning for specific scenes and mapping out required gear) and manage their filming process using various equipment like cameras, phone tripods, attachments, and microphones.

  • Instructional Materials: Presentation link: Introductory and guiding slides for the project. 25 Day by Day slides with work time instructions.
  • Script Writing Instructions: Step-by-step guidance on how to format and construct a video script.
  • Video Support Guides: Support Video Links: General tutorials and concept videos to help guide production.
  • Editing Support Video Links: Targeted technical help for the post-production and video editing phase.
  • Evaluation & Structure: Project Sheet and Rubric: Clear outlines of assignment requirements, expectations, and how the final videos will be graded.
  • Video Making Behavior Contract: A set of behavioral guidelines and expectations for students while working with equipment and filming on location.
  • Self-Assessment: Group Reflection: A post-project evaluation tool for students to analyze their collaborative workflow and final output.
