This lesson attempts to answer the question, "What does it mean to be patriotic during the Vietnam Era?" Students will listen to many protest songs of the era, and analyze the lyrics. In addition, they will compare these analyses to a political cartoon and quotations about patriotism.

Included in this lesson are a list of songs along with links to YouTube to play them out loud, lyrics for each song, activity sheet for students to fill out, and political cartoon and quotations to compare with lyrics.
