When I was teaching myself Vietnamese I used the same strategies that I used to teach my students in English. We often teach our children to use word chunks and word families. I created this to help myself and my students memorize the vowel clusters in Vietnamese and the easiest way was to use word chunks and images that they would be familiar with. The first page has only the vowel clusters and a matching image. The second page has the vowel clusters, a matching image, and an English-Vietnamese phonetic sound support. The English sound support is a very close approximation of the sounds each cluster makes in Vietnamese. The third page has all three with exception of the English support. I hope this helps you and your students continue to learn the Vietnamese language.
