This product contains teacher instructions and student handout for this 2 day - 1 week activity that can be used during the study of ANY play. Plays are meant to be seen, not heard, therefore any play that is studied in the classroom should be viewed in either a live or taped performance. This activity is crucial for a unit on any Shakespeare play. The activity asks students to follow the character arc of one of the major characters in the play, paying particular attention to motivation, intent, and relationships. By following the changing attitudes of the characters, students are able to analyze the playwrights thematic intent and are able to engage in analytical discussions of human behavior. The activity is an engaging way to lead students into writing an essay about the play you are studying.
