This Vikings activity packet would be the perfect addition to any social studies unit. It includes a KWL (Know, Want to Know, Learned) chart for students to fill out prior to beginning their studies. Following the chart, there is a mapping/labeling activity and there are 16 task cards which outline important people and events in ancient Viking history and culture. The final page is an activity I call MATS: Make a True Sentence. In this activity, students use a sentence patterning chart to create sentences about Vikings. They must think about the structure of a sentence, but also think about which pieces to put together to make true statements about the topic. In my classroom, the sentences we made were attached to a large paper to make our Vikings anchor chart, but you might find it to be a good way to review the Vikings before moving on in your social studies sequence.
