This zip file consists of 3 pages. One is a copy of Vincent Van Goghs painting "Bedroom at Arles". This painting was finished in October of 1888. There are actually five versions of this painting. Vincent Van Gogh is known for using vibrant colors in his paintings. " Probably the most striking and unusual aspect of the painting is the peculiar perspective. The work is unrealistic in its warped portrayal of the bedroom, with the subjects skewed downward toward the viewer."
The second page is a black and white outline of a bedroom similar to Vincent Van Gogh's. It helps the students start out their art project with a background and few items. Students can add their own items to the painting by drawing them in with pencil then outlining with black. Some items to discuss woud be lanterns, water basins, shoes, towels, clothes, throw rugs and things that would have been in bedrooms during the 1800's. When the students are finished they should finish with colored markers.
The third page is a sample of a finished room using the black and white print out.
My projects are designed for classroom teachers who are reasponsible for teaching art. They are educational, fun and colorful without being messy. They should take 2, 35 minute sessions to finish and are designed to be quick projects so that classroom teachers can fit them into their schedules.
