A solid inquiry activity where students discover that the temperature of a vinegar-baking soda reaction decreases as the reaction proceeds. The set-up for the activity and directions to run it are described. Data tables that can be incorporated into students’ interactive lab notebooks are provided. A follow-up activity of an exothermic reaction is also presented.
