This is an activity handout that your students can complete while they watch a video clip. The clip highlights in particular the experiences of Viola Desmond. This activity would be a great addition to illustrate the important contributions of Black Canadians to Canada's history.
The link to the clip from the official YouTube channel is included on the worksheet. Students can watch independently and complete the worksheet or it can be used for whole class viewing.
This was created for a grade 10 Canadian History class (CHC2D) using the Ontario Curriculum, but it is appropriate for any grades 7-10 class that is learning about the role of women and minority groups in the post WW2 era.
