The Violet and Norman series feature 3 year old Violet and her 7 year old brother Norman.
This story is written in simple sentence structure young children ages 3 - 6 and targets the syntactic structures of he, she, is, and 3rd person singular verbs. The targeted structures are listed at the beginning of the teacher text, and are underlined in the student responses. A data collection sheet, Comprehension/Recall Questions, articulation words contained in the story for sounds [p, b, m, n, t, d, k, & g] and 12 visual cue pictures are included.
Print and laminate visual cue cards; print teacher narrative and place in sheet protectors. AND

Read through the story once. DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS ON THE FIRST READ. Read the story a second time asking the questions. Children repeat the modeled structures in a sentence imitation format. Two levels of complexity are listed as possible responses.
Students can also retell the story using the picture cue cards or the book pages.
