Use this sheet to help violin students learn to read their notes on the staff. Just PRINT out the sheet, CUT the notes apart, and TAPE onto index cards which you have cut in half. (Use the other half of the index card to write A, D, G, or E and have students match note names with the notes on the staff).
I use this method to teach even the youngest violinist how to ready at the first lesson!
Once students can read their notes and count 8th and quarter note rhythms they are read to begin their first songs in The Beginning Violinist: A Companion Book for Children and Adults. (Also available on this site).
