Beginning with Pre-colonization to the European Expansion of the Germans and Scots Irish settling the Great Valley of Virginia.

Before 1607- Natives lived all over Virginia

1607- English men arrived

1619- Africans forced into slavery arrived

1620- English Women arrived

After 1620- The English and Africans populated the Coastal Plain and Piedmont

The Germans and Scots-Irish populated the Valley

Natives were forced inland

The second document offers a practice for students to drag an icon from each cultural group to the map to demonstrate their own understanding.
