A 13 slide powerpoint that walks through history as the capital of Virginia moved from Jamestown, to Williamsburg, and finally settled at Richmond. Complete with pictures, questions to ask as you go along, and a link to a virtual tour of the current Capitol building in Richmond. Enjoy!
The old (2008) VS.4c has been split into VS.4c and VS.5d. This aligns with the new 2015 standards for VS.4c and VS.5d combined. It made sense for me to combine them, but you can easily split them up into two separate PPTs if you'd like. They would just be a lot shorter.
This covers everything that the VDOE has listed in the Curriculum Framework.
You can use this to introduce the topic or you can use it for review.
You can print out the question slides with the answers blank or you can have students write down the questions and answers as you go. The possibilities are endless. Use as you see fit! :-)
I have many more Virginia Studies and Science powerpoints for 4th grade. If you like this one please consider buying some more to help you teach about these great subjects.
*Updated to align with 2015 Standards but this would easily work for 2008 (4c) as well.
