Here's a visually rich set of word wall cards/posters that you can display in your classroom as you teach your students about Virginia and the New Nation (aligned with Virginia Studies VS.6)!
Key terms/places/people include: agricultural base, compromise, constitution, Constitutional Convention, country, culture, declaration, delegate, elect, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, leadership, migrate, model, opportunity, president, right, settler, skill, statute, territory, tradition, worship, the United States, Virginia, western territories, the Deep South, the Appalachian Mountains, the Cumberland Gap, George Washington, James Madison, George Mason, and Thomas Jefferson.
There is a word wall card for each of the above terms/places/people. In addition, there are five posters included (Important Virginians [George Washington and James Madison], the Constitution, the Virginia Declaration of Rights, the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, and Migrating Westward).
Note: the four people cards have a name and picture only - no facts. I've done this purposely because of how I use these cards in my classroom. If you would prefer to have key information on these cards, please email me at email@example.com and I will add those to the set. Also, there are a few duplicate cards (i.e., elect, settler, etc.) from my other sets, since some words are used in multiple standards.
Please check out the preview to see examples of what's included in this resource!
