Thanks for visiting! As a visual, kinesthetic learner myself, I continually structure my classroom bent towards these learning styles. My students are constantly working with their hands, getting up and moving around to different stations for projects or labs. In addition, I use simulations online, and videos, but simulations are EXCELLENT ways to introduce, reinforce, or review topics and units. Besides the information, they are EXTREMELY engaging, interactive and fun!
The simulation for this virtual lab can found at the following website:
Owl Pellet Virtual Lab!
This is a great lab to do the in place of, or the day before you do the actual Owl Pellet Dissection. It does a fantastic job teaching kids about an Owl's diet, the pellets, and how scientists can use this information to better understand an Owl's behavior.
The lab I created follows the virtual lab step by step, and as students progress, asks detailed questions which require written responses. Kids will manipulate certain aspects of the lab, and videos will sometimes be required to watch.
Thanks again for visiting, and be sure to visit my other interactive simulations covering topics in Biology, Astronomy and Forensics!
