Panda Speech

Have a virtual show-n-tell with your students while working on language skills. This visual is great because it targets “wh” questions, describing, and expressive language naturally during a fun activity. Students LOVE showing their pets, favorite toy, favorite snack, and other treasures they have at their house. Play along and share something with them (and model the questions on the visual for them!) You could use this activity as a warm up to your speech therapy session! This could also be done in a group setting!

There are two options included in this download: A virtual show-n-tell visual and an articulation find-n-tell visual.

Articulation Find-N-Tell: Tell the student to find something in their house that contains their speech sound (have them write it in the box at the top or you fill it in beforehand). When the find it and show it to you have the answer the questions about it and practice the word 5 times (they can place a stamp or check in the box with the annotate tool). If they find 5 objects that will be 100 trials! This is also great to email to parents as a home activity.

Variations: If too much time is being spent on searching for objects here are a few tips:

  1. Prep the parent before hand and have them place some objects close by with their speech sound (give them some suggestions using the child’s specific sounds, example for /k/ cup, candy, cookie, cat, car, etc..).
  2. Use books or magazines pictures: tell the student to find pictures in a book or magazine and hold them up to the camera to show you.
  3. You find things in your house with their speech sounds and show them!

Instructions: Pull up the PDF on your screen. Select screen share in your platform (some platform say “present” instead of screen share). When students show you their item, have them answer the questions on the page and check the boxes. I have them check the boxes with the annotating feature in Zoom but you could also use the annotation feature in other platforms of PDF editing applications. You could also have them put a stamp in the box if your program has that capability.

***Important: If you want to use this in the iBooks app, please email me pandaspeech@gmail.com and ask for the password. You will need to enter it before it will let you annotate.
