I LOVE this assignment. In the past, I have set aside 2 days (90 minutes) for students to complete this. I have had students do this individually as well as in partners, and it seems like I have had better results from the partners.
This assignment works best immediately after teaching the lysogenic virus cycle. Students need to have either notes or a textbook to refer to. Students must create a frame-by-frame analogy to the lysogenic cycle. They must label the parts AND describe what is going on in each scene. It is a very GT-oriented lesson that administrators always LOVE to see happening in the classroom!
