Product Description
This product is a 88 slide PowerPoint on Pascals Law, Viscosity and activity. Pascals Law is described and video link to a blob jump (giant inflatable that sends a swimmer into the air when someone jumps on the other end) A short activity with a balloon and marker about Pascals Law is provided that has students make a face and then watch it expand and contract as they squeeze the balloon (Can just be a Demo) Another activity about Pascals Laws uses a syringe and tube. Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids are addressed. Several slides help to reinforce the learning. A video link is provided. Student also can make Oobleck (directions included) or Goop (Video link provided). The PowerPoint next describes Viscosity is the resistance to flow. High viscosity and low viscosity are described. A challenge question is provided that has the students guess which fluid has the higher viscosity (peanut butter vs. ketchup). An activity called the condiment Olympics is described. Students place six condiments on a tray (Ketchup, Mustard, Fake Maple Syrup, Real Maple Syrup, Jelly, and Chocolate Syrup). A sample spreadsheet is provided so students can record the time it takes each condiment to travel from the top of the tray to bottom once it is tilted toward the vertical. Visuals and directions are included. Follow-up questions and answers are provided. Students predict the probable viscosity of several different fluids. This is a neat PowerPoint. A link to the Olympic Fanfare is provided and I always do a opening ceremony with some selected students holding condiments as they enter the room. Stop Watches, trays / wax paper, syringes and tube, balloon, corn starch and water, and condiments are needed. -Paper towels as well :)

Entire 4 year Science Curriculum, 20 Full Units (50,000 Slides) HW, Notes, and much more

Please view my other posting on TpT called the Matter, Energy, and Environment Unit which includes this small PowerPoint within the unit. This much larger unit consists of a 3500+ slide PowerPoint, 14 page bundled homework package /assessment, and class notes that are the road map for an exciting and interactive unit full of lab activities, challenge questions, discussion questions, project ideas, assessments, modified assessment, class notes, PowerPoint review games, answer keys, videos, and much more.

Text for the Unit PowerPoint is presented in large print (32 font) and is placed at the top of each slide so it can seen and read from all angles of a classroom. A shade technique as well as color coding text helps to increase student focus and allows teacher to control the pace of the lesson. Also included is a 12 page assessment / bundled homework that chronologically follows the slideshow for nightly homework and the end of the unit assessment, as well as a 8 page modified assessment. 20 pages of class notes with images are also included for students who require assistance, as well as answer keys to both of the assessments for support professionals, teachers, and homeschool parents. 30 video shorts (FLV files) are provided and a slide within the slideshow cues teacher / parent when the videos are most relevant to play. Video shorts usually range from 2-7 minutes and are included in organized folders. Three PowerPoint review games are included (125+ slides each). Answers to the PowerPoint review games are provided in PowerPoint form so students can self-assess. Lastly, several class games such as guess the hidden picture beneath the boxes, and the find the hidden owl somewhere within the slideshow are provided. Difficulty rating of 8 (Ten is most difficult).

Areas of Focus: Matter, Dark Matter, Elements and Compounds, States of Matter, Solids, Liquids, Gases, Plasma, Law Conservation of Matter, Physical Change, Chemical Change, Gas Laws, Charles Law, Avogadro's Law, Ideal Gas Law, Pascal's Law, Archimedes Principle, Buoyancy, Seven Forms of Energy, Nuclear Energy, Electromagnet Spectrum, Waves / Wavelengths, Light (Visible Light), Refraction, Diffraction, Lens, Convex / Concave, Radiation, Electricity, Lightning, Static Electricity, Magnetism, Coulomb's Law, Conductors, Insulators, Semi-conductors, AC and DC current, Amps, Watts, Resistance, Magnetism, Faraday's Law, Compass, Relativity, Einstein, and E=MC2, Energy, First Law of Thermodynamics, Second Law of Thermodynamics-Third Law of Thermodynamics, Industrial Processes, Environmental Studies, The 4 R's, Sustainability, Human Population Growth, Carrying Capacity, Green Design, Renewable Forms of Energy (The 11th Hour)
