"Visions of Beauty" is an ideal lesson plan for celebrating African American History month. This is an original lesson plan on the life of Madame C.J. Walker, who defied the odds, and in spite of growing up poor and orphaned, became first African American woman millionaire, civil rights supporter/activist, philanthropist, and an extremely successful entrepreneur. Madame C.J. Walker's life was hard, but she overcame it all, with positive attitude, determination, and hard work. This lesson plan includes, pre, post, and during reading activities, vocabulary/concepts, discussion questions, essay questions, and extension activities.
