This single page visual art handout is an easy way to walk students through the skin tone mixing process.
When I first introduce portrait painting to my art classes the question of how to create realistic skin tone is one of the first to come up. This guide is the perfect tool to set students off to experiment and learn by doing.
The printable handout shows every color you need to mix skin tone and the combinations to use for light, medium, and dark skin tones. In addition, the art handout includes a sketchbook assignment to encourage the students to record their findings to easily reference when they start their portrait paintings.
