Here you will get a full set of visual reminder cards to use for a variety of ages and behavioral needs. You get a total of 17 different cards to use. One suggestion would be to laminate them, then cut them out and put on a clipboard or ring to keep near the front of the room. As students need reminders then you simply put the card on their desk for a visual and nonverbal cue. I have seen this a successful strategy because students are made aware of their behavior without always needed to spoken to in front of other students. I have used these to conference with students after class has finished and it is a way for them to reflect on their behavior and the reason they received the card, as well as how they turned that behavior around. I have also included positive cards in the set. If the student is doing the right thing and working hard you may want to reward them with a "good job" card. This way students don't always think of these cards as a "bad thing". If there are specific cards you would like to add please feel free to contact me and I would be happy to customize a set for you! Some cards in the set include the following:
-Thank you for turning around your behavior. Keep it up!
-Please take a minute to think about your actions. Return this card to me at the end of class to talk about other choices you could be making.
-Don’t forget to ask for help if you need it.
-When I am at my desk I should be quietly working.
-Take this as a warning that you need to turn your actions around!
-LISTEN UP! Make sure you are being a good listener and following directions!
-Please remember to raise your hand!
-Refocus Yourself! Take a minute and remind
yourself of what you need to do right now.
-Thumbs Up! Keep up the great work!!! Return this card to me for a special reward!
*Each card also includes a picture that goes along with the reminder. There are 6-8 cards per page.
