Using a visual checklist during independent work times is a great way to help students self-monitor their on-task behavior. Visual checklists help keep students focused and also help them to feel successful. This product contains several different versions of visual checklists that would be appropriate for elementary or middle school students. There are 3 full page checklists that allow for 6 different tasks and 3 half page checklists that allow for 3 different tasks. Both boy and girl versions are provided.
Suggestions for use: Print the desired checklist on card stock and laminate. Laminating the product provides durability and allows multiple opportunities to use the checklist. Use a dry erase marker to record the tasks that the student must complete. These tasks can be big or little and broken up into small increments as needed. Breaks can also be listed as one of the tasks. Keep the checklist near the student for him/her to reference and provide them with a dry erase marker to check off the items as they are completed.
