Tired of the same old, boring topics in art class?! Look no further...
Introduce your students to the world of fashion design using Katy Perry's recent halftime performance at Super Bowl XLIX.
This ZIP file includes:
1. A 15-slide PowerPoint that features images of Katy Perry's outfits, provides visual culture and famous artists' connections to the wardrobe, and prompts students to analyze the sources of inspiration.
2. Reference images for the outfits, designer drawings, and cultural references.
3. A 4-page Word document that gives the details and project guidelines in G.R.A.S.P.S. assessment format, rubric for the project, a response sheet to help students form an artist statement, and an outline for the artist's "lookbook," a tool to help them get started on their own fashion design. Also included are links to relevant online articles.
This project asks students to conceptualize a work of art in the fashion genre. The design must be inspired by an aspect of visual culture and/or a famous work of art.
