Description

Visual Discrimination and Perception are important prereading skills. These Same and Different Picture Task Cards are perfect for teaching and reinforcing visual discrimination with PreK-First Graders. Your young students will enjoy the opportunity to compare and contrast pictures. Same vs Different is definitely a skill you will want to include in your early curriculum.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN YOUR SAME OR DIFFERENT VISUAL PERCEPTION PICTURE CARDS DOWNLOAD:

►72 task cards in full color
►3 Distinct Groups of 24 cards each: colors/size/shapes, school supplies, and foods we eat.

►3 Sets of Header Cards for Sorting to match each group of cards above .

PLEASE NOTE:

►This does not include letters...only graphics. Each grouping has a different color background for easy sorting.

►Due to the nature of this product, your download includes only a color version...no Black and White.

HOW TO USE YOUR SAME VS DIFFERENT DOWNLOAD:

►These task cards can be used in a whole group setting, small group, or individually by students.

►When using whole group, I teach my students that if the two pictures on the card are the same, they raise both hands in the air and wiggle their fingers around.
► If they are different, they take their hands and crisscross them back and forth in front of their tummies.
►And the kick is that the game is played SILENTLY...yes...SILENTLY! And my students love this. I simply raise the card in the air when the children are sitting in front of me and they make the appropriate motion.
►Perfect as a warm up or when your students need to get the wiggles out (MOVEMENT BREAK) between two different tasks.

I love that the task cards were items that would be familiar to young kiddos. I used this resource for kids with AAC device and other mini object, working on identifying same and different but also labeling.

I used this resource while targeting a same and different goal in speech therapy. Very fun, recognizable visuals for a school-aged client.
