You can use these charts to mark instructions for an activity or work time as you give them. Then, when students can't remember an instruction, they can look at the chart. This has been a major timesaver in my classroom, because I no longer have to repeat instructions 15 different times!
To use it, I mounted, laminated, and posted each chart on my magnetic whiteboard. As I give directions for an activity, I stand by the chart and place a magnet on the picture that matches each instruction (example - you can work with a partner). If more than one instruction applies to the activity, I mark them with more magnets.
If you don't want to use magnets, you can also usually use dry erase markers on the lamination, or use any other kind of marker.
