Description

Visual journals, or altered books, are a great continuous project for your visual art or English class. This art assignment is perfect for 4th grade, 5th grade, middle school or high school visual art students. The visual journals can serve as a weekly, monthly, or yearlong project.

This product includes 87 printable prompts to cut up and place in your visual journal prompt jar. In addition, there are six different visual journal prompt jar labels you can choose from to print and tape onto your jar and sub plans ready to be customized with your information as an easy go to when you have to be out last minute.

The 87 visual journal prompts cover a range of topics from using a handful of materials to create a page to specific focuses on subject matter with freedom of choice of supplies. A list of needed supplies are included so you can make sure your students can create any prompt they draw.

Next time your student says they have no idea what to do in their visual journal, send them straight to the prompt jar!

This assignment is always my students' and my favorite for the year. I have the chance to get to know them on a personal level and they get the chance to express themselves however they choose. It also frees up pre-planning for one day every week, you already know Friday is visual journal day.
