PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This interactive, attention-grabbing lesson plan provides everything you need to teach your students the importance of visuals and how to “read” them. Students will learn to consider an image as a type of writing product. I have included a guiding PPT, links to provocative videos, organizers for guided note-taking, directions for building an image bank tailored to your students, exit slip, and homework. This plan is a great foundational lesson for a unit on media literacy or visual argument, or a fun, critical thinking, filler lesson between units. Check out my other media lesson How Marketers Target Kids . You will need to access magazines or hte internet to create an image bank for your students to use before you teach this lesson.
