This is a seven day unit plan that integrates Social Studies and visual literacy. Students will study the Civil Rights Movement, Martin Luther King JR, and Malcolm X. They will view influential speeches by both men and compare/contrast them according to their central messages and possible influences from each man's background. Included are anchor chart examples, printable graphic organizers, discussion rubrics, discussion questions, video links, and instructions for daily lessons.
