Set up ALL students for success with this EDITABLE Picture Version of the “What Should I Be Doing?” Check-In Board!
This is a perfect visual for non-readers, ELL, Students with Autism, and Diverse Learners.
I have taught first and second grade for the past 9 years. Something that has always been a challenge for me and other teachers is communicating expectations and directions in a way that allows my students and I to execute tasks or conduct small group instruction during centers without disruptions. I have students and Special Education teachers coming and going throughout the day at various times for pull out and push in, so I had to come up with a way to minimize disruptions, have smooth transitions, students on task and working towards independence.
You can display this board on a bulletin board, white board or chalkboard with magnets and/or velcro, or a pocket chart. When students are working independently and you are working with a small group or one-on-one, use this management tool for students to know exactly what they are to be doing, what supplies to use, and what to do when they are done! This will eliminate questions when you are doing guided reading, testing, or teaching. I have included two versions for you, colored and black and white.
If using this board sounds like a dream, but you don/t teach primary, then please check out the "What Should I Be Doing?" Check-In Board WITHOUT Pictures in my store!
