This is a set of visual supports to help students learn to use appropriate response length (for those students who tend to go on and on) The cards can be laminated and kept available to use during all lessons. I initially teach the students what each card means, and we may practice with the cards for 1 or 2 sessions. Once they are familiar, I just keep them nearby to place in front of the student as needed. They help to reduce the need for verbal prompting.
*There are 3 "Short But Sweet" cards that can be used as positive feedback for students who are keeping their responses an appropriate length
*There are 3 "Waaaaay Too Long" cards that can be used as a reminder to keep responses an appropriate length.
I have found that my students respond positively to these cards, and make significant progress.
