All four lesson plans in a single integrated file, including answer keys; Language, Bullying, Procrastination and Elaboration.
A series of theme-based individual lesson plans using a unique integrated visual approach to stimulate and facilitate learning and comprehension. While these plans have been, and are being very successfully used with students 3rd grade and above, they are not designed to replace current academic words appropriate for the respective grade levels. Each plan is designed to enrich, encourage and demonstrate the power of integrated learning techniques to provide advanced language skills. For example, the word derision may be no different than a made-up word: “greutious” to a student at first glance. However, with visual and context reinforcement, students begin to comprehend and become creative in their analysis rather than relying on rote memory. Early introduction of academic words can help avoid cramming for admissions and other exams.
Many will use these plans as templates, substituting words based on standards for the grade being taught. Teachers, parents and home schoolers have the opportunity to engage students in conversation, writing, thinking while encouraging curiosity.
The first book includes four complete theme-based lesson plans on language, procrastination, bullying and elaboration. Each lesson has an associated answer key.
The author’s integrated and interactive approach to vocabulary, comprehension, discussion and writing, is designed to accelerate learning and understanding and improve writing and oral skills.
The use of context, sentence completion, antonyms and synonyms, demonstration of incorrect usage, have been effective in introducing vocabulary at earlier than expected ages with effective retention at all age groups.
These lesson plans are useful in English Language Arts programs for students of English as a first or second language. They are excellent tools for homeschooling and after-school enrichment programs.
