This is an activity I use while teaching the comprehension strategy "Visualization." I created a description of an imaginary animal that I read to the students. The students then draw a picture of the animal they visualized. On the second sheet where they are required to draw the animal, I made a list of important things to remember while drawing a visualization.
I also always draw my own version of this animal and then once the students have their drawings completed, I pass my version out to them and we explore the similarities and differences!
