Visualization is forming a picture in your mind of the setting, characters, and events in a story to help you better picture what you are reading.
This mini lesson walks the students through the visualization process that is an essential precursor to an effective creative writing piece.
Students are subjected to the various principles of visualization. Examples walk the students through each process. A descriptive paragraph follows depicting a fictional home. Students are then required to draw what they see. Good writing comes with excellent visualization skills!
Finally students complete a creative paragraph utilizing their five senses from visualizing.
