Visualization Mini-Lesson, Grades 2-6
This mini-lesson teaches students how to visualize while reading. The lesson connects with what students already know about making pictures in their minds. This is a scripted lesson that can be adapted or changed to fit your teaching style. It includes a connection, teaching point, a read aloud with modeling script, and an actively engaging short guided practice activity. I take you all the way through the lesson, including thoughts on assessment and reteaching. The lesson is appropriate for grades 2 thru 6 and secondary special education classes. The lesson should take about 15-20 minutes.
