In this hands on extensive activity, Students will match the approprate pair the descriptions with their matching Meiosis phase.
Highest Level: Fill in the Blank. Teacher will give clue vocabulary words on the board while students to use their own background knowledge in collaboration with their partners to fill in the descriptions of each meiosis stage.
Medium Level: Students will receive 4 out of the 8 matching cut outs and will be required to use their background knowledge and collaboration with their partners to fill in the remaining blank boxes.
Low Level: Students will be given an envelope with all meiosis phase descriptions. Students will work collaboratively with their partners in order to match each definition with the proper meiosis stage.
Students will work on expanding ideas through a WIT strategy. Students will complete three statements about the process of meiosis. Each sentence starter will have a but, because, so.
The because should state ‘how’ something happens.
The but should state a ‘problem’ based on what is happening. The so should state the ‘result’ of what has happened
