I've bundled several visuals that I have used with students during 1:1 teacher time, as well as independent work time. The two countdown boards (1-10 and 1-5) show the student how much work they have left before it's time to stop and check their schedule. The token economy chart can be used to help motivate the student to get their work done. The other visuals that I included can be used in the work area as well. They remind the student what they are supposed to do when working.
All pages should be printed out and laminated. You will need Velcro for the countdown boards and the token economy chart. The countdown boards should be cut out after laminating. Cut along the lines on the top to make "flaps" so that you can put the flap down after a task/question/minute (this is whatever you want to make it) is completed. You should put Velcro on the flaps so they stay down. The token econ chart should also be cut out and Velcro placed on the chart, as well as the stars and "working for choices- computer, break, and snack". The student chooses what they want to work for and places their choice in the box at the top right. My tip for storing the stars is to add Velcro to the back of the chart for storage. It is easy to move the stars from the back to the front of the chart.
Please remember to be consistent in how you place your Velcro! Either use soft Velcro on the board and hard Velcro on the backs of the pieces, or vice versa.
I hope these visuals help structure up your work sessions and make them positive and meaningful for your students!
