Great for health science classes! Could be used in Principles of Health Science, Practicum or certification courses like Medical Assisting(CCMA), CNA and more!
Objective: To review and assess knowledge of correct procedure for obtaining vital signs in a healthcare setting as well as the normal and abnormal values for temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respirations and oxygen saturation.
Directions:
Task Cards can be used in a variety of ways getting students up out of their seats and moving around the classroom.
1.Print, cut and laminate the task cards. Also, copy enough answer sheets for each student.
2.There are a variety of ways you can run this activity:
- Place 2 cards at each station and have students move in groups of 3-4 from station to station. It is helpful to use a timer to let them know when to move.
- Students work in pairs and each pair is given a full card set. They work together to answer each card. You will need to print multiple sets for this, but leads to more one-on-one discussion between students
- Place cards around the room, and have students move about the room finding each card and answering on their answer sheet.
- Hole punch corner and place on a ring to use as a review activity for individuals that need additional review or finish an assignment early
