This is a file to help keep track of ALL those vocabulary words you come across in teaching. Our school requires us to use some form of documentation when teaching our core context vocabulary. To help with the organization I created a system to keep them all in one place!
At the beginning of the year, I print out each cover page for the subject areas, and then enough copies of the blank student forms to last the entire first semester! I give these copies to students in the first week or so, and they put them into their vocab folders (with brads). We make tabs for each subject so it's easy to find each section.
It's nice to have all subject areas (math, science, social studies, and language arts) in one area and the folder prevents students from losing papers!
The math and language student papers have a section for them to write the word, definition, and then write/draw an example.
The science and social studies student papers have a section for them to write the word, definition, draw/write an example, and then use the word in a sentence that relates to what you're studying.
