A ten-word vocabulary lesson focused on figurative language, which I refer to as "writers' tools":
The handout includes two pages with a list of the words, their definitions, forms and/or synonyms, pronunciation, part of speech, and space to write an example sentence. There is a page of matching/fill-in-the-blank/short answer for each word, followed by a story in which students must fill in the blank.
NOTE: My original version of this contained a copyrighted image at the top of the first page, which I removed. This may have caused some of the pages to shift.
