Vocabulary! Your students will enjoy using these vocabulary tools!
Included in this set:
Interactive Bookmark for Vocabulary in the Text – I ask students to keep this one in their independent reading book. When they come across a word they don’t know, they simply write in one of the boxes. Later, they look up the word’s meaning and record it…..adding new words to their speaking and writing vocabulary with each new book!
The Vocabulary Hunt Bookmarks (need highlighter tape) and Word Frames require a little upfront prep on your part, but are well worth the time and effort. Do you have a parent volunteer that could help? You just need to make them one time and you are set!
I like to run a set of 6-8 of each (on cardstock and in color) and use during guided reading. Students enjoy the “scavenger hunts” as we look for suffixes, adverbs, sensory words….well, the list just goes on and on.
They could also be handy tools to use with your science and social studies books...highlighting text features, content vocabulary words, interesting facts, etc…
