This serves as a review of the vocabulary learned and the function of the vocabulary. Students are not meant to use the words in the sentence, but rather recognize the phrases within the sentences and know what type of phrase they are and what they function as.
For this activity, the teacher will hand out a semantic map to each student. Projecting the map on the board, the teacher will then begin backwards. The teacher will start with a section and give an example. The teacher will then ask the students what the phrase is acting as, which will help complete the second tier.
