One full month (4 weeks) of Bell Ringers designed to advance students' vocabulary acquisition. These bell ringers are for upper elementary and middle school students. Directions and answer key are provided.
Day 1: Students will begin by reading a text to determine the meaning of an unknown word through context clues. Then, students will create their own definition of the word.
Day 2: Students will draw a picture of the new vocabulary word. This is designed to help students recall the definition.
Day 3: Students will create 3 sentences using their vocabulary word.
Day 4: Students will determine the part of speech and possible synonyms and antonyms for the vocabulary word.
Day 5: Students will take a quick quiz on a variety of vocabulary words. These quizzes are progressive and will review words from the previous week.
